My Counselling Roots

Welcome. Thank you for your interest in my practice and if this is your first time reaching out or your one hundredth, I applaud your courage.

My love of helping was no doubt nurtured at a young age by watching my grandmother. She loved people. Her home was welcoming to everyone and crossing her threshold would often result in pulling up a chair in her kitchen, offering a cup of tea and a sweet and conversation. She instilled in me a desire to be curious and the skill to be present and listen. I cherished my time with her.

My own journey has gifted me with the opportunity to meet so many beautiful people and I am grateful for the privilege to sit beside those that choose to share their personal story.

My Counselling Journey

My counselling journey began in 2015 when I decided to begin a Master's of Education in Counselling from Acadia University. I have been a school counsellor since then and have been a member of the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association for the past two years as a registered counselling therapist candidate (RCT-C).

I am trained in Trauma-Informed Care and Transgender Health and continue to seek professional development to keep up to date on current research and practice. I will do my best to support you as the author of your own story.

I am currently under the supervision of Michael Donaldson MA, RCT, CCC of Nova Wellness Center.

I hope to offer you a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space to share, learn and be heard.
